Whether you are considering a career change or entering the work force for the first time, the process can be daunting. In this four-week series, library staff and guest presenters will offer in-person training designed to equip you with skills and knowledge necessary to take the next big leap into your future.

October 23 | 2pm:
Brush up on your resume writing skills with an informative session presented by guest speakers from Weld County Employment Services. You will be shown the "ends and outs", how to make updated improvements, and how to consider real-world skill transferring as experience. For the second half of this program, you will have the option to utilize the computer lab and receive over the shoulder support from library staff and employment services professionals utilizing FREE, intuitive resume building programs provided by the High Plains Library District.
October 30 | 2pm:
With a well written resume in hand, it's time to prepare for the process of applying for your desired career. You will be shown various online websites and services to search and apply for job vacancies. Professionals will be onsite to teach how to prepare applications and tweak your resume for positions you hope to apply for. For the second half of this program, you will have the option to utilize the computer lab and receive over the shoulder support from library staff and employment services professionals
November 6 | 4-6 pm:
In partnership with the Fort Lupton Food & Clothing Bank, we are excited to offer the opportunity to "shop" for business attire for men and women*. There is no fee associated, just come and pick out what you need for your upcoming interview opportunities! While you're hear, learn some tips for looking your best for the job you hope to get!

November 13 | 11am- 3pm:
It's time to put everything you've learned to the test and work out those pre-interview jitters! Participants will have an opportunity to sign up for a mock interview with one of Fort Lupton's city personnel or administrators. They will give you tips, answer any questions you have about the process of interviewing and candidate selection, and offer you a chance to practice your interview skills.
